I’m Back

Right, i have found some time to do a quick update!

Life has had me sidetracked well and truely lately, my hubby is still off work after crushing his finger, they are keeping a very close eye on how it is healing.

Now you gals out there know what it’s like when your man is home, yep, you never end up getting anything done….lol

Mind you going out for breakfast or lunch with him is not a bad sacrifice really….hehe!

Iv’e also been busy working on the latest kit from Paper Pesto.

Also i have been busy creating a series of 6 8×8 layouts for Sanzi, but if you want to see them you need to be going to SENZ as they will be on display at the Sanzi stand.

I thought i coped pretty well when Thursday came round, it was my dad’s birthday, mind you it was a bit hard receiving his will from his lawyer on the same day.

Mal kept me occupied all day so i didn’t have time to think about it, but i must admit there were a few tears late that night.

But onwards and upwards huh..

School holidays this week so my darlings are at home, we are going to see Transformers at some stage this week and Caitlyn is looking forward to coming to work with me on Tuesday and Wednesday so  she can catch up with Barbara and join in on the holiday classes at NZ Scrapbook, Barbara does the coolest kid’s classes complete with morning tea and Miss Cait just adores her.

Meanwhile i’ll be downstairs working…..lol

Guess what?……next Sunday my baby turns 18!

(eeeekkkk, that makes me feel old!)

So Sunday night we will be invaded by 6 teenage boys, lord help us!

I think we will all be going to bed very early on Saturday night as i can see the whole house not getting much sleep on Sunday night.

My girls are hanging out to see the new Harry Potter film during the second week of the holidays, the trailer looks pretty good so here’s hoping we are not disapointed.

Ok, that’s it from me for now, things still to be done…..catch ya later.

:-)

A.W.O.L

Life is crazy busy…..

In the words of the terminator…

“I’LL BE BACK”  ……. Later!

;-)

Guilty!

Yep, guilty of blog neglect….again ;-)

Time passes so fast, i can’t seem to keep up with everything lately,  no excuse but that’s just the way it is….lol

So what’s been happening?

The June Paper Pesto kit is out and i’m still working on that one, but my first layout is up along with some beautiful layouts from our clever design team.

family ties

The second edition of the new kiwi mag hit the shop counters this week.

I was pretty keen on getting a copy of this one to see my layout, and i’m really pleased with how it looks in print.

I have a few things i have to work on for Sanzi, but i can’t share any of that with you…..not yet anyway ;-)

Yesterday Gloria and i went over to Greenlane to check out the Dunkley’s craft show and it was good…..Well my blown budget is proof that i found a few things that i really “needed” to buy…..hehe

I really look forward to our big day out together, it’s always so much fun and i am very blessed to have such a cool mother in law to share this time with……thanks Glor! xxx

The downside to the day was finding out that my hubby had crushed his finger while helping his dad clear out the shed at the farm.

So Gloria & I turn up at the A&E to see what the damage was just in time to see the nurse cleaning the wound, not a pretty sight!

His crushed finger is broken and resembled a split sausage, but he was giving the poor nurse loads of grief so he is okay.

No work for 7 days and the dressing has to be changed every day.

I reckon he’s going to get a good scar outta this one.

Today is a very special lady’s birthday, Mal’s Aunt Brenda is 60.

So i whipped up a card for her this afternoon.

forbrenda

The butterfly stands out from the card but of course you can’t see that when it’s flat on the scanner….lol

“Happy Birthday Brenda”

Hmmmm, i think that’s about it for now, better go……Scrapping to be done!

Have  a great weekend everyone.

:-)

Friday Again…

Miss Cait came home this afternoon all excited because she had a mathathon this week and she got 90 out of 100 maths questions correct.

This mum is super impressed!!!

Apart from that nothing much to report really, work has been quiet this week, but the weather has been shocking so i think people are staying indoors and hibernating.

I had a bad start to the day on Wednesday when i put  the wrong code in the alarm system and managed to set it off……..eeeeekkkkkk!

Still dunno how i managed that one, my mind was otherwise engaged in other thoughts at the time…… Must focus when entering the disarm code….lol

I have the June Paper Pesto kit to work with over the weekend so that should keep me occupied.

A big, big thank you to my scrapping buddy Mrs Frizz for the gorgeous handmade card which arrived at my house yesterday……You are the best, thanks!

I’ll leave you with a couple of crafty pics, have a super weekend all.

This is a card i made last Sunday.

Wanted

Recently we attended the combined 40th’s of two friends of ours and i wanted to scrap the invitation as well as the photos and the thank you card.

The party was Wild West themed and all of the guests joined the birthday couple  by getting dressed up as saloon girls, cowboys and indians…..lots of fun!

Here is the layout i created.

Ann 2

The photo is hinged to the page and has another photo on the back.

The thank you card is underneath these photos attached to the page.

I added the stitching to the invitation and attached the red flower sequins using dimentional magic.

The leaves are created using a Basic Grey mini stamp and the flower was made using jac paper and the Pink Paisley glitter.

All of the products came in the Gypsy Trinkets kit from Paper Pesto.

Thank You

For the lovely comments, concerned e-mails and phone calls.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It’s ok, we are ok…

I’m sure there will be times when things won’t be ok, but that’s ok too.

Life moves on and holding onto grief is not a good thing so i’m keeping myself very busy  to keep it at bay.

Right onto more positive things…

This morning….It was cold!

Want to see what our place looks like at 7-00am?

3 Degrees

That’s the fourth frost in a row, although this morning was the heaviest so far.

The outside temperature was a very cool 3 degrees.

And it’s only the beginning of June???

By 10.20 am all that was left was a bit of ice in the bottom paddock that was rapidly condensing into steam as soon as the sun hit it.

10-20am

Looks like smoke, but it’s not.

At least the days have been beautiful, it’s better than rain and wind….i’m sure that will be heading our way soon enough….groan!

Our fur baby is growing up rapidly, on Wednesday she very proudly brought this in to show us.

First Catch

Her first catch!

Thankfully said rodent had already expired and we didn’t have to chase it through the house…..lol

:-)

Saying Goodbye

It’s never easy, usually unexpected and something none of us want to face.

That’s exactly what i  had to do this week when my sister called to tell me that my dad passed away suddenly just before midnight last Friday.

Stunned!!!!

My dad has been in a rest home in Upper Hutt for the last three years, i didn’t know he had been sick, but he had been for three weeks and my sister thought there was still time for me to get down to see him…..  There wasn’t.

We travelled down to Wellington on Sunday so i could see dad and help my sister with the funeral arrangements.

Even though i thought i would be ok….I wasn’t.

Saying goodbye to my dad has been a rollercoaster of emotions.

I think he would be pretty happy with how his funeral went, his grandchildren were a big part of the ceremony and i’m extremely proud of my kids and how they coped with everything.

J & S were palbearers and C had a very important role to play with the lighting of a candle.

Mal was my rock as i grieved, i’m very lucky to have such an understanding, loving soul mate….Thanks honey.

My thanks also have to go out to our friends Mike & Janine, they were our sanity savers while we were in Welly.

Janine, words cannot express my gratitude to you for being by my side during dad’s funeral…..Sorry about the huge pile of tissues… ;-)

Carey, i hope you & Ethan are much better now, you missed quite a show.

This coming week we will fall back into our usual routines and life will move on as it always does.

I think the hurt will take a bit longer to heal though.

:-(

Spring Cleaning…

Ok, i know Spring is not even remotely close but i couldn’t wait until then…. My messy, overflowing, disjointed scrap room was ready for a major overhaul!

So i have spent all day sorting and re organising my scrapping supplies, that doesn’t include the paper though….. That is a major on it’s own and needs another whole day…lol!

Some of the stuff i found stashed away waiting to be used was down right scarey!

So now it’s in a carecart waiting for Mal to deposit it all at work.

And i have a more organised space to create in.

A good day all round :-)

Also very productive on the scrapping front with 2 more layouts for Paper Pesto

sneek1

sneek2

Both layouts will be revealed after the DT work has been loaded, so keep an eye out to see what our wonderful team has created this month with the “Gypsy Trinkets” kit.

Have a good week everyone.

:-)

Big Day Out

Here’s my  first layout for Paper Pesto using the “Gypsy Trinkets” kit.

I love the colours in this kit, they are definitely more “Me” ;-)

Big Day Out

I have  used the Jenny Bowlin Black microdot  and red houndstooth paper and grunged it up a bit.

The Travelogue Tag and elements cut from the Are we there yet? paper add a few embellishments to the layout.

Every year for the last five years i have taken Josh and Steph over to the Aotea Centre in downtown Auckland to the Armageddon Pulp Expo.

For those who have never attended and don’t quite know what it’s all about, it’s an expo where companies like X-B0x, Playstation, Apple, Sony etc showcase their new release games and products.

There are also celebrity guests from overseas in attendance.

These celebrities may be actors/actresses from well known movies/ TV series as well as comic artists and wrestling stars.

Josh checks out the gaming while Steph prefers to see what stars are there.

It’s a full on day, but my teens really look forward to it…..and i enjoy spending time with them and sharing the things that they are interested in.

Isn’t that what parenting is all about?

It’s the little things that create long term special memories.

More creativity to come soon.

;-)
